A building permit shows Taylor Swift’s Rhode Island home is undergoing major renovations

Taylor Swift’s iconic Rhode Island home serves as the perfect New England summer getaway. She bought the 11,000-square-foot mansion, which sits at the highest point on Watch Hill, in 2013 for $17.75 million. The eight-bedroom, 10-bathroom property boasts eight fireplaces and 700 feet of private beachfront property. It sits on 5.23 acres.

According to building permits from December 2024, Swift hired contractors to build an addition. The permit notes that the mansion will have a new 16-by-24-foot bedroom and bathrooms added. Additionally, she wants kitchen renovations. The total cost of the renovations is about $1.7 million.

A clip shared by a fan on TikTok shows the renovations in action as crews work on Swift’s home from the outside, seemingly building the addition. One fan commented on the clip and seemed to have more information regarding what the permits say.

“Kitchen remodel and enlarging a bedroom suite by turning the current bedroom into a bathroom/lounge and re-adding the bedroom (additional 400 square feet),” the fan wrote. “Building permits are public record.”

Other fans guessed that Swift might be adding a recording studio to the estate. Other guesses included a possible baby room now that she and Travis Kelce are more serious than ever. Swift hasn’t publicly said anything about the renovations. She also owns properties in Beverly Hills, New York City, and Nashville.

According to betting experts from Sportscasting.com, Rhode Island, Tennessee, and New York are the top locations. Experts think the couple has a 33% chance of tying the knot in Rhode Island.

“Kelce’s hometown of Ohio could be an outside option at 16/1, while with Swift having links and homes in New York and Tennessee, these states will be praying they hear wedding bells to get the added attention,” spokesman Andy Newton noted. “However, the word on the street is that Rhode Island, where Swift has a $17 million beach-fronted mansion and grounds, has already been discussed by the pair as their top-favored wedding venue, and so I’m with the bookies here and will side with the smallest U.S. state grabbing all the headlines.”

A source told Life & Style that Taylor Swift wants to have a summer wedding — and Rhode Island could serve as the perfect state.

“Taylor has her heart set on a summer wedding,” the insider said. “She’s already narrowed down her picks for her bridal gown and two other designer dresses she wants to wear.”

The source added that Travis Kelce and Swift “agreed on a lavish outdoor ceremony and celebration at her place in Rhode Island” and hope to be “surrounded by family and close friends.” Of course, with the high-profile couple and their A-list friends, security will be at an all-time high. “There’s talk of banning phones,” the insider continued, “and having everyone sign NDAs to keep the day as private as possible.”

According to a lawsuit set forth by an anonymous plaintiff, Jay-Z and Combs raped her when she was 13 years old at an MTV VMA afterparty in 2000. In light of the allegations, Jay-Z is allegedly trying to distance himself from Combs.

Jay-Z and Sean “Diddy” Combs had a friendly relationship before Combs’ arrest in September 2024. However, the true nature of their friendship is largely unknown. While the hip-hop moguls ran in the same social and professional circles (and Jay-Z attended Combs’ birthday party), Jay-Z is allegedly trying to distance himself from Combs after Combs’ arrest. Agents arrested Combs for racketeering, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution, and he heads to trial in May 2025.

Jay-Z vehemently denied the allegations outlined in a lawsuit against him. The allegations state he and Combs raped a 13-year-old in 2000. A source told DailyMail.com that Jay-Z has “zero loyalty” to Combs and will do what it takes to “clear his name.”

“Jay-Z would absolutely throw Diddy under the bus if that is what it took to clear his name and walk away from this,” the insider alleged. “He has zero loyalty to Diddy. The moment Diddy was arrested, Jay-Z scrubbed him from his existence. He is going after [lawyer Tony] Buzbee for himself and not for anyone else.” Tony Buzbee is a Texas-based lawyer representing the woman with allegations against Jay-Z and Combs.

“The only thing that he cares about is him never stepping foot inside a jail cell and his family being safe,” the insider continued. “Jay-Z is extremely powerful and will deploy any tactic necessary.”

A second source verified that Jay-Z plans to do what it takes to defend himself.

“Jay-Z is more than ready to throw Diddy under the bus to defend himself if that is what it takes and doesn’t want anything to do with his lawsuits,” the second source told the publication. “Any notion that Jay is trying to help Diddy by going after Tony Buzbee is false. He doesn’t care about Diddy.”

The second source who spoke to DailyMail.com said Jay-Z felt “appalled” by the video footage.

“Jay was appalled by the Cassie video, which is why he is adamant that he and Diddy weren’t friends, as he didn’t really know what he was capable of,” the source explained. “The video was a deciding factor for Jay when announcing that he and Diddy weren’t close.”

However, defense attorney Alex Shapiro claimed that the prosecutors “invented” the narrative with the footage. He claimed the video “omits footage corroborating the defense account,” according to ABC News.

This announcement didn’t shock fans. Insiders told People in November 2024 that Simpson and Johnson were experiencing a serious rift.

A source told Closer Online UK that Lopez and Costner stood close together at a Colorado bar in early 2025. According to the insider, Lopez remains “laser-focused” on Affleck amid the divorce finalization, but it’s not an automatic no for Costner.

“Kevin has a lot of the qualities she’s looking for in her next man,” the source alleged. “He’s incredibly successful and he’s someone that commands a huge amount of respect in the industry and among all their peers. Having him on her arm would make a big statement — and it doesn’t hurt that Ben has always spoken very highly of Kevin.”

The insider added that Costner has a longstanding friendship with Jennifer Garner, Affleck’s first ex-wife. This “appeals” to Lopez “because she loves the idea of dating someone they can’t help but approve of.”

Previously, another source told In Touch Weekly that Lopez looked forward to having “no-strings-attached fun with hot young guys” after her divorce.

Affleck was able to head to Jennifer Garner’s place and temporarily seek refuge. Now, he’s allegedly “reaching out” to people to help with the devastation. And Garner recently opened up about the “guilt” she feels after losing a friend in the fires.

In July 2024, Ben Affleck moved into a $20 million home in Brentwood near his first ex-wife, Jennifer Garner. Affleck was forced to evacuate his home amid the natural disaster. He fled to Garner’s home and returned to his place on Jan. 8, 2025, after catching wind that the fires didn’t reach his home.

“Ben’s home is still under evacuation order, but he feels so grateful his property is safe for the time being,” an insider told Page Six.

The insider noted that Affleck “knows many people who unfortunately lost their homes.” As a result, the A-lister is “reaching out to anybody he can to help.”

Affleck bought the five-bedroom, six-bathroom mansion a month before Jennifer Lopez officially filed for divorce. Before the purchase, Affleck was staying in a $100,000 monthly rental in the same area. Photos captured by paparazzi showed him frequently heading over to Garner’s place. He retained a friendly relationship with his ex after splitting in 2015. And they still spend ample time together for the good of their three kids: Violet, 19, Fin, 15, and Samuel, 12.

Have the LA fires affected Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ mansion?

Sean “Diddy” Combs purchased his mansion in the Holmby Hills neighborhood of LA for $40 million in 2014. The 17,000-square-foot home features nine bedrooms, eleven bathrooms, a 35-seat movie theater, a wine room, a fitness studio, and a lagoon pool. Combs has an additional 3,000-square-foot structure he used as a guest home and a separate spa house containing a steam room, massage room, and beauty salon.

So, is Combs’ mansion in danger as the Southern California wildfires rip through LA neighborhoods? As of the time of publication, Combs’ house remains standing. While Combs’ mansion sits just a few miles east of Beverly Hills and near the Palisades fires, it hasn’t been negatively affected by the flames. Of course, this could change. Unfortunately, many other celebrities in the area haven’t been as lucky.

On Friday, Jan. 10, 2025, Combs’ son, Justin, posted resources on his Instagram Stories for residents affected by the fires. “Instead of only sending thoughts & prayers … Here’s how to help victims of the LA fires,” his Stories read.

The lack of damage to Combs’ estate has people talking. Catherine Austin Fitts, a former George H.W. Bush official, suggested a possible connection to Combs and the fires on her podcast, Financial Rebellion. “In situations like [the LA fires], I look at patterns,” Fittz said. “I look at some of the communities involved … how many of the homeowners were on the P. Diddy list?”

His home has an ‘ick factor,’ making it hard to sell, a real estate source says

Sean “Diddy” Combs has been trying to sell his LA mansion since September 2024. Unfortunately, the estate hasn’t garnered much interest. Real estate sources told TMZ in November 2024 that only a “few buyers” walked through the mansion for a viewing, and none had real interest in making an offer.

One source told the publication that the house has an undeniable “ick factor” following the allegations against Combs. Additionally, potential buyers are unhappy about the asking price of $61.5 million.

In September 2024, a source told In Touch Weekly that Combs was choosing to sell the property because of his legal fees.” Defending him against these serious charges is a huge undertaking, and it’s gotten very expensive,” the source alleged. “He will hate to part with it, but he has no other choice.”

According to the lawsuit, Jay-Z allegedly raped a 13-year-old in 2000 with Sean “Diddy” Combs. Jay-Z vehemently denies the allegations and is pushing to dismiss the case. According to an insider, Beyoncé’s sister, Solange Knowles, and her mother, Tina Knowles, “don’t believe” the horrific allegations.

Beyoncé and Jay-Z continue to stand united in the public eye despite the allegations. A source told DailyMail.com that Solange Knowles fears that “there could be no coming back” for Beyoncé with the current lawsuit.

“Solange told Beyoncé, she warned her a decade ago, and she wouldn’t listen,” the source continued.

Solange and Jay-Z have a complicated history. While they both have shared how they have a lot of love for each other, surveillance footage from 2014 showed Solange hitting and kicking Jay-Z in an elevator after a Met Gala party. It was assumed that the confrontation occurred over Jay-Z’s infidelity.

According to Jay-Z’s legal team, the court should “impose a monetary sanction or fee award” on Buzbee and the Buzbee Law Firm for bringing false rape claims into the public eye.

Buzbee is fighting back. “With each frantic filing, Mr. Spiro’s team reeks of desperation,” he said in response, according to TMZ. “Mr. Spiro and his team think the laws and rules don’t apply to them. They are flat wrong. They also think they can bully or intimidate counsel by filing meritless and frivolous pleadings full of lies and half-truths. Again, they are dead wrong. We won’t be bullied or intimidated, ever.”

Jay-Z’s legal team and Buzbee will likely continue to fight in the public eye as the case progresses.
