‘XO, Kitty’ Season 2: Anna Cathcart’s Sent the Sweetest Text to Noah Centineo About Their Reunion

The Netflix original series, XO, Kitty is back with an all-new season and a reunion for actors Anna Cathcart and Noah Centineo. Their To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before characters, Kitty Song Covey and Peter Kavinsky, reunite in XO, Kitty Season 2. Upon hearing the news they’d be working together again, Cathcart sent Centineo a “very, very excited” text.

The XO, Kitty Season 2 trailer revealed Kitty gets a surprise visit from Peter Kavinsky (Centineo), her older sister Lara Jean Song Covey’s (Lana Condor) love interest in the To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before trilogy.

She’s at school in Seoul, South Korea, when she sees Peter, wearing a Stanford sweatshirt (remember Lara Jean and Peter ended up going to different colleges), on the Korean Independent School of Seoul (KISS) campus. At one point, Peter even gives Kitty, whom he previously won over with Korean yogurt drinks, a boost, saying: “You are Kitty Song freaking Covey. Don’t you forget it.”

Centineo and Cathcart first played Peter and Kitty in Netflix’s 2018 adaptation of author Jenny Han’s To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before novel followed by To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You in 2020, and To All the Boys: Always and Forever in 2021. Cathcart began starring in XO, Kitty, a spin-off of the trilogy, in 2023.

Speaking to Swooon, Cathcart revealed how she reacted to having a mini To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before reunion with Centineo in XO, Kitty Season 2. “I was truly so, so excited when I found out that Noah was coming,” the 21-year-old said. “I texted him very, very excited being like, ‘I can’t believe this is actually happening.’”

Schedules aligned for the two actors. While Cathcart filmed new episodes of XO, Kitty in Seoul, Centineo was there shooting The Recruit Season 2, which hits Netflix on Jan. 30, 2025.

“He was in Seoul when we were shooting, and it was so, so special to be back in a space where not only did I get to see Noah again and hang out with him,” Cathcart continued, “but get to be Kitty and Peter and have that dynamic re-established and re-sparked, I think it is so special.”

“They know each other so well in such a specific way, and I love being able to come back to this world and get to re-explore that,” she explained. “Like their really specific older brother protective relationship.”

“Just to have his support as well and his encouragement from him about this show and about where I’m at in my career,” Cathcart added. “I’m truly so, so grateful for him.”

‘XO, Kitty’ Season 2 premieres on Jan. 16, 2025

It won’t be long before fans of the To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before trilogy get to see Kitty and Peter’s reunion. XO, Kitty Season 2 comes out on Jan. 16, 2025. Call it a belated Christmas gift or just a great way to start the new year.

The new season picks up where Kitty left off after her stunning realization—no spoilers—as she heads back to school for another semester at KISS.

Why Idris Elba Said Denzel Washington ‘Pissed Me Off’ in ‘American Gangster’

Actor Idris Elba collaborated with Denzel Washington for what used to be the latter’s highest-grossing movie, American Gangster. Although Elba greatly admired Washington, he admitted he initially had a little trouble understanding the Oscar-winner’s methods.

Idris Elba felt he only met Frank Lucas in ‘American Gangster,’ not Denzel Washington

Idris Elba didn’t have much screen time in the 2007 drama American Gangster. But he spent what little presence he had in the film going toe to toe with his co-star Denzel Washington. One of the benefits of working alongside Washington was that the Oscar-winner brought the best out of Elba’s performance.

“Denzel’s intense, definitely intense. I haven’t really said this to anyone before but with Denzel, when you’re working with someone at that level he’s at, you just bring your A game,” Elba once told Pyro Radio (via Drum & Bass). “You’ll fall on your face if you’re nervous, you have to be a hundred percent.”

But it took Elba a while to realize the method to Washington’s madness, which is why Washington initially rubbed The Wire alum the wrong way.

“And with Denzel, he didn’t show up to the set, his character showed up to the set. You didn’t get any more than that, so whatever his character was feeling about my character, that’s what you got,” Elba said.

“So, if you shake his hand and his character didn’t like yours, he’s not really shaking your hand, there’s no conversation or friendly banter because his character and my character had proper beef. I remember filming one of the scenes, I said hello to Denzel and he kind of dissed me. And later I realized he was in character but it pissed me off, I felt to myself f*** him then. And that came across in the film.”

The experience didn’t diminish Elba’s respect for Washington. Instead, it might’ve just enhanced it. Elba hoped to work alongside Washington again in a future role where they had more time together on screen.

Washington’s other American Gangster co-star, Josh Brolin, also experienced firsthand how deep Washington dived into his crime lord counterpart. In an interview with Graham Bensinger, Brolin recalled collaborating with Washington in a scene. But Washington responded to Brolin like the bad guy he was playing in the movie. But this made Brolin feel like things were going to take a wrong turn quickly.

“We almost got into a fight,” Brolin said.

But cooler heads prevailed when, much like Elba, Brolin realized what Washington was doing.

“He was that guy. He was Frank Lucas, period. But I didn’t know. And then we got through that moment. I said, ‘Are you OK?’ He said, ‘Yeah. You?’ I said, ‘Yeah. Can I get my line?’ He said, ‘Go for it.’ It’s like he’d said what he needed to say,” Brolin said.

Idris Elba really thought Denzel Washington shot him in ‘American Gangster’

Washington was such a convincing performer in American Gangster that it seemed he even tricked Elba at one point. Speaking with the Daily Mail, director Ridley Scott revealed what it was like filming Washington and Elba during their most intense scene. Washington was scripted to shoot Elba with a prop gun. But since the prop gun was empty, Scott needed Elba’s help to make the murder scene seem more authentic.

“This is a gun with a solid barrel. There is no aperture, I would never risk it,” Scott said. “But when you pull the trigger, there’s a recoil. There’s no blank, nothing. So I said, ‘I want you to lean on the gun.’”

But the scene in question might’ve been too real for the Beast star. “Idris thought he’d been shot and dropped to the sidewalk and said, ‘I’ve been shot,’” Scott recalled.

Sandra Bullock has come a long way since she got her start in Hollywood. But a few years into her career, she had one particularly rough experience that changed the way she saw the film industry.

Bullock touched on her childhood a little bit in a 2015 interview with Variety, which shaped the woman she’d eventually become. She owed a lot of her strength and independence to her mother, who taught Bullock not to limit herself because of her gender. “My mother basically raised me as, ‘Women can do everything men can do. Don’t get married. Blaze your own trail,'” Bullock remembered. “And I didn’t think others thought any differently. I always thought we are all equal, and we are.”

But the Speed star had a rude awakening when she starred in one film that went against her and her mother’s beliefs. She didn’t reveal the movie by name, but based on her treatment on set, it was a feature that she was unlikely to forget.

“I was actually doing a film about 10 years ago, and I found myself yelling and being angry. And I was like, ‘What is happening to me?’ I was literally fearful,” she said. “And I realized, it’s because I’m female. It dawned on me. At that day and age, at that point in my career, it was the worst experience I ever had.”

“Was I so naive up to this point to actually think that I was on an equal level with everybody? It was the way I was being treated, because I was female, versus the way others were being treated,” she added.

Bullock asserted that it took a while before she could get over the experience. It helped that what happened that day wasn’t a recurring incident in other projects.

‘It took a year and a half, where I regrouped, and thought, ‘Okay, this is an isolated case.’ I’ve had other subtle experiences, but nothing that blatant. It was a big eye opener, because it wasn’t just men on women. A lot if came from women as well. The blessing of that film was that it opened my eyes,” she said.

Sandra Bullock felt there were signs Hollywood was going in the right direction

Bullock saw hope that Hollywood was beginning to share her and her mother’s feelings on equal treatment when it came to women. She credited the support that female actors often offered each other for the progress the film industry was making.

“I’ve always known women in this business to support each other deeply. When someone does well, when they have success, that means there’s going be a broader landscape for the rest of us,” Bullock once told The Telegraph.

She gave examples of female-led projects that inspired other movies that centered around all female casts, from The Heat to Bridesmaids. She included her own feature Gravity in that category, a blockbuster that she couldn’t have been prouder of.

“I’d like to think at some point instead of it being a woman’s film or a man’s film, it is just a great story and both sexes can go and get the same enjoyment out of it,” she said.

“It’s entertainment, you’re not curing cancer. And I would love for it to get to a place where it’s not about the gender of the actor. With Gravity we get as close as you can to that, because there’s nothing about my character that screams female,” Bullock added.

Jessica Biel made a lot of sacrifices to develop her acting career. One of those involved discontinuing her college education. Despite her accomplishments, Biel would’ve most likely returned to finish her degree if she could.

Biel attended Tufts University in Massachusetts from 2000 to 2002. However, she took a hiatus from college to star in her 2003 horror film The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. The break was only supposed to be temporary as Biel still had her sights set on collecting her degree someday.

“I definitely expect to go back to college,” she once told IGN. “It’s really, really important for me personally. I want that degree. I want those classes. I always feel… after the semester’s done I go home and I find myself talking to my parents, “Mom, Napoleon did this!” Like all this stuff I never knew anything about and I’m just rattling it off and feeling very confident and smart — that I can talk to anybody about so many different subjects. And that feels really good to me. I want that.”

In another interview with Pop Entertainment, the 7th Heaven star even predicted she would regret it if she didn’t finish university.

“I left before picking a major so I was taking classes that were just interesting. I would love to go back. It’s important for me to finish and I don’t know why. If I don’t do it, then I will regret it. My younger brother is in college and he will graduate before me. That pisses me off,” she said.

It turned out that was exactly what would happen. Biel’s acting career seemed to pull her in too many directions to finish school. Aside from the education, perhaps what she missed most about college were the memories she could’ve created like her peers did.

“I wish I could have had that time that my girlfriends all had,” Biel once told Allure (via Digital Spy). “I wish I would have lived in that crappy, nasty brownstone they all lived in. If I had to do it again, I would have stuck around and finished it out.”

Why Jessica Biel didn’t want to finish college at Tufts

After her sometimes unnerving shoot with Wesley Snipes in Blade Trinity, Biel seemed to consider returning to college. If Biel had gone back to college, it was unlikely she’d return to Tufts University. She was strongly considering transferring to another university. Although LA might’ve been most convenient given her Hollywood career, she didn’t want to finish her degree in California, either.

“I don’t know when I’m going to do this. I hope it doesn’t just go on and on and years and years go by and I’m still going to do it,” Biel once said in an interview with MovieWeb. “I’d like to finish it somewhere like NYU or something. I’d love to go to NY and just kind of go for a couple of years because I’d like to live there anyway before I have a family or anything like that.”

As for why Biel wouldn’t return to Tufts, she confided that everyone she was close to graduated from the university already. Biel, who already proved she could shine solo, felt this meant she could go to another school with a completely fresh start.

“I would if my friends were all still there,” Biel said. “I went for a year, took a year off, and went back again and now they’ve all graduated. So, for me to go back to Medford, Mass., where I don’t know anybody anymore, it’s like starting as a freshman all over again and like to choose something else, like go to NYU where I can live in an apartment and not have to be on campus, or, I don’t know, I wouldn’t completely write off CA schools because there are some great schools here, but I don’t know. I’ve always had an affiliation of school equals East Coast. I don’t know why.”

How Nathan Fillion Reacted to His Old Soap Opera’s ‘Castle’ Nod

Actor Nathan Fillion is one of a few One Life to Live cast members who fans don’t have to look up what happened to today. Thanks to his success over the years, it’s easy to see what Fillion’s post soap-opera career’s been like. One of the many projects that he’s done in his older years is the show Casle, which One Life to Live paid tribute to.

One Life to Live was one of Fillion’s first major acting roles before his breakthrough series Firefly. So the star couldn’t help but feel sentimental about the soap opera. Fillion probably would’ve even stayed on the show if it wasn’t for the sage advice he’d gotten from his older co-star back then. The Superman star typically gave credit to Bob Woods for convincing him to leave One Life to Live.

“Pack your bags and move to Los Angeles. And try. And if it doesn’t work out? They’ll fire whoever’s in your place and take you back. I would not have had the courage to do that unless he had that talk with me,” he said in an interview with Vulture.

It turned out to be great advice since Fillion would move on to do bigger things afterwards, achieving the perfect level of fame. It seems, however, that One Life to Live has been following the actor’s career from afar. So much so that the show would reference Castle in one of its episodes, a shout-out that would later get back to Fillion.

“I heard recently that One Life to Live did a little nod to Castle. One of the characters was being interrogated by my uncle Bo Buchanan and he said, ‘No, no! This isn’t Traffic. I know how this goes, I watch Castle! I like that kind of stuff,” he said in a 2010 interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

Fillion was so fond of the show that he wouldn’t have minded returning to his roots if the opportunity ever presented itself.

“I would also love to go back to One Life to Live. They just got a new Joey, the character I played, so I would love to go back and just do a walk-on where Joey’s in the middle of something super serious, [acts out bumping into him] and says, ‘Oh, hey. Sorry,’ and then just keep waking. I would love to do that,” Fillion said.

One Life to Live taught Fillion to have greater appreciation for soap operas in general. He didn’t agree with others who felt that soap operas were just launching pads.

“I’ve heard daytime [television] be referred to as a stepping stone but I think of daytime as a building block,” Fillion once said on the People’s Choice Awards (via Parade).

“I’ve never worked so hard, I’ve never worked so much, I’ve never worked with so many experienced actors who were willing to teach. Who were willing to impart their experience, their wisdom, and the mistakes they made. It was all there for the asking,” he added. “I will never forget any of those people. I am here because of them.”

Additionally, Fillion looked forward to the day he could act alongside his One Life to Live co-stars again. TV Line asked Fillion who, specifically, he wanted to pair up. The rare leading man had no trouble rattling off names.

“All of them,” Fillion answered. Gina Tognoni (ex-Kelly), Susan Haskell [ex-Marty], Thorsten Kaye [ex-Patrick], Bob Krimmer [ex-Andrew], Bob Woods [ex-Bo]… I could go on. I want Bob Woods to be on The Rookie,” he said.

Actor Jessica Alba felt like she was going to know Cash Warren forever from the moment they laid eyes on each other. While that may be the case, however, that didn’t mean Alba and Warren would be in a relationship forever. It was recently announced that the two went their separate ways after 16 years of marriage. But this wasn’t the first time the pair broke up.

Things moved pretty quickly for Warren and Alba after they first met on the set of Alba’s Fantastic Four in 2004. Warren worked as a director’s assistant at the time, and immediately fell for Alba when he had to take photos of her for the film. By 2007, they were expecting their first child. Even though Alba didn’t like the idea of marriage at one point, she eventually did marry Warren in 2008 according to People.

But dating Alba wasn’t easy for Warren, who had a difficult time adjusting his girlfriend’s fame. So much so that it brought insecurities out of Warren that he might not have known were inside him.

“When we first started dating I was really jealous of other guys and the attention she was getting from other guys. It just wasn’t making me feel good,” Warren said on the Whine Down with Jana Kramer podcast (via Female First). “I was always a pretty confident person in my own [life], walking my own path and really happy there, and next thing you know I’m looking up and feeling jealous all the time.”

This eventually led to Alba and Warren going their separate ways. But back then, their break-up was only temporary.

“I was like, ‘I hate feeling like this. It doesn’t make me feel good, and I know it doesn’t make you feel good.’ And we broke up four years into our relationship. We broke up. It was the jealousy. I was turning into an a******, and so we broke up,” Warren said.

After doing a bit of soul-searching, Warren found his way back to Alba. He was in a place mentally where he could support her and her career completely.

“If anything, when we got together I was like, ‘Don’t make sacrifices. Pursue your passions, pursue your careers, don’t make sacrifices because you feel bad for leaving the kids for this week or that week’ Eventually they’ll grow up and they’ll forget the fact that you were gone for these three days or these five days,” he said. “I’ve tried to be a good teammate in that regard. I’m not interested in the spotlight. I’m not a star, I’m not a celeb, I’m not an actor, I’ve never tried to be an actor. I high-five her, let her do her thing, and I’ve gotten more comfortable with it over the years.”

Alba and Warren may not have lasted forever, but it seems that they didn’t waste any of the years they spent together. They were married for a long 16 years and share three children together. Additionally, the pair did what they could to make their marriage work. In a blog Alba wrote that was obtained by Today, she touched on how they sustained their romance. The Sin City star had just given birth to their first child Honor, and had to find new creative ways to make time for each other.

“And maybe it’s because I’m 30 or maybe it’s because I’m a mom, but I don’t think romance is always about swinging from chandeliers (although it’s nice from time to time). It’s really about the small gestures too. Recently when filming a movie in Atlanta, Cash surprised me by having a beautiful bouquet of flowers delivered to the set. It was a simple, heartfelt surprise that let me know he was thinking of me during my time away from home. I loved it,” she wrote.

A source told People, however, that they couldn’t maintain that passion for long, which ultimately led to their divorce. But the insider alleged that neither harbored any ill feelings towards the other.

“No matter what’s going on right now, it seems they will remain close,” the source said. “If they’re filing for divorce, it’s not because of some hateful drama. They still look happy together.”

Cameron Mathison of ‘General Hospital’ Chokes Up as He Describes Losing ‘Everything’ in California Wildfire

Cameron Mathison is one of many Californians who has lost nearly everything in the wildfires currently raging in the Los Angeles area. The General Hospital star’s home in Altadena was destroyed during the fast-moving Eaton Fire, which broke out Tuesday evening and has now spread to more than 10,000 acres.

On Wednesday, Mathison, 55, shared a photo on Instagram showing the charred remains of his house.

“We are safe,” the former host of Hallmark’s Home and Family wrote. “But this is what is left of our beautiful home. Our home where our kids were raised and where they wanted to raise their own someday … sending so many prayers to everyone being affected by these fires.”

Mathison told Good Morning America (via YouTube) on Thursday that the fire spread so quickly that he was only able to grab a few personal items before fleeing.

“I’ve been up all night. I can’t sleep,” a visibly shaken Mathison said. “I’ve lost my home and everything that I own. I have this hoodie and a pair of pants and two pairs of sneakers left. That’s it.”

The ‘General Hospital’ cast member calls fires ‘surreal’

Mathison, a former GMA contributor, said he spotted what he believes was the beginning of the Eaton Fire as he left for dinner in Pasadena on Tuesday evening. Soon after, he realized the situation was serious and his home was at risk. He returned to grab a few items and then went to stay “at an apartment here in Pasadena with my daughter and her mom.” (Mathison and his wife Vanessa, with whom he shares two children, announced their separation in July 2024.) Later, he returned “into the smoke and the fire” and grabbed passports, birth certificates, and some photo albums. By the next morning, the house was gone.

The star of Hallmark Channel movies such as Very, Very Valentine and At Home in Mitford said he was thankful he and his loved ones were safe. But he said he’d lost many “irreplaceable” items in the fire, including his children’s artwork and baby photos and his own childhood photos.

“Of course, that’s just stuff. But at the same time, it’s very unsettling. It’s so surreal,” he said, adding that there were “hundreds, hundreds of people” who were experiencing the same kind of loss. “It’s just so devastating.”

The neighborhood where Mathison lived is “completely decimated,” he added.

“So many people, so much loss,” he said. “Our neighbors are coming together in any way we can, supporting each other.”

Other celebrities affected by Los Angeles fires

Mathison is not the only celebrity affected by the Eaton Fire. Mandy Moore, who also lives in Altadena, said that “miraculously, the main part of our house is still standing” after the fire. But her neighbors were not so lucky. “Everyone we know lost everything,” she wrote on Instagram. “Every house on our street is gone.”

Many stars have also lost homes in a separate fire in Pacific Palisades. Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag, Paris Hilton, Billy Crystal, Cary Elwes, Jeff Bridges, Ricki Lake, and Anna Faris are among those whose homes have been destroyed in the blaze.

The Eaton Fire and the Palisades Fire are the two largest of several fires currently burning in Southern California, stoked by dry and windy conditions. More than 170,000 people have been ordered to evacuate, thousands of structures have been destroyed, and many people are without power. Five people are confirmed to have died.

Eva Mendes Originally Failed Her ‘Place Beyond the Pines’ Audition

Actor Eva Mendes met Ryan Gosling, who convinced her to get married, on the set of Place Beyond the Pines. It was a life-changing opportunity that Mendes managed to win despite failing at this one thing during her audition.

Gosling’s 2013 thriller was directed by filmmaker Derek Cianfrance, who had trouble casting his lead’s love interest in the film. It was Gosling who made the suggestion for Cianfrance to hire Mendes for the role, who was an actor Cianfrance couldn’t believe he overlooked.

“Because I always liked her, I’ve always thought she’d been great,” Cianfrance once told IndieWire.

But Mendes, who’s often seen as gorgeous, also had to dress down considerably for the role, something she had trouble doing because of her looks. Still, Cianfrance wouldn’t rule out Mendes for the part, as he was too impressed by her dedication as an actor.

“So she came to an audition and she showed up with some high-waist, 1990’s jeans and a big, baggy T-shirt and her hair was a mess and she had on no make-up and she was trying her hardest to be unattractive and, of course, she was failing miserably at it, but it meant so much to me that she was making herself vulnerable,” he said. “I told her she didn’t need to read, that I didn’t need her to read anything, and I asked her instead just would you take me for a drive and she took me around the neighborhood where she grew up.”

That was all it took for Mendes to convince him that she was the right choice for his movie.

“I realized what kind of human being she was and not this image. I kind of fell in love with her as a human, and she was definitely scared,” he said. “She had fear about the role, but I don’t relate to a fearless actor. I relate to an actor who is terrified because, I think that’s the meaning of courage, that’s the definition of courage. It’s not fearlessness, it’s fearfulness and confronting it anyway and I felt like we could make some magic together.”

Derek Cianfrance had Eva Mendes work as a waitress to better prepare for the role

Mendes’ Beyond the Pines was one of the actor’s darker movies where she played a working mother who had a difficult time making ends meet. Since her character was a waitress, Cianfrance thought it was important for Mendes to experience a similar lifestyle firsthand. And fortunately, her fame didn’t get in the way of Mendes’ temporary side gig.

“Very few people recognize me in Schenectady,” Mendes said in a separate interview with IndieWire. “I was fine and I was really happy because they were just mad that they didn’t get their eggs on time so you know I got attitude from customers when I deserved it. I got tips when I deserved it. So it was great, but the beautiful part of that was meeting and connecting with the women that worked there that were born and raised in Schenectady and their stories and they were wonderful women.”

When the time to start filming came, Mendes’ newfound serving background came in handy in more ways than one.

“It was also super practical when it came to shoot,” Mendes said. “I knew my way around. I felt great with the space. I knew where to refill the ketchup and the salt. I knew where to put the orders. I had it all. I knew the drill. I knew when I got a break. Derek is so smart, not just because you’re living the character, but that’s rehearsal. Most of the time when you do a film, even when it’s with a great director, you don’t even see the place you work at or the location of the house until that day. So the fact that Derek thinks of this and you’re already connected to the space, it’s amazing. That also helps with the character.”

Halle Berry has been candid about her Oscar win, calling it one of her biggest heartbreaks. Although she cherished the triumphant moment, Berry almost immediately experienced one of the few consequences of winning the trophy.

Berry famously won the Oscar for Best Actress in 2002 for Monster’s Ball, becoming the first and only Black female actor to earn this recognition. To this day, many other African-American female Oscar winners have only won in the Best Supporting Actress category. Berry is well aware that her accomplishment hasn’t been replicated by her successors. She admittedly found this heartbreaking.

However, her own Oscar win might’ve been slightly disappointing as well. Winning the prize solidified her as an elite artist to her peers. At the same time, Berry felt she fell victim to the rumored Oscars curse quite early after her victory.

“Everybody talks about the Oscar curse,” she once said in an interview with Vogue. “People win Oscars, and then it seems like they fall off the planet. And that’s partly because a huge expectation walks in the room and sits right down on top of your head. The moment I won the Oscar, I felt the teardown the very next day. I thought, If I’m going down, I’m going down taking chances and daring to risk.”

In a resurfaced interview with Black Film, Berry confided that winning an Oscar didn’t make her career any easier.

“It has made it harder, but it’s only made it harder because of the pressure that comes along with that award,” Berry said. “I had to work really hard in not allowing that pressure to stifle my creativity and stifle my desire to be an individual and do my career my way. So, I worked really hard to not just wait myself out of my career by waiting for another Academy Award-winning role.”

Berry added that if she intentionally tried to duplicate her own Oscars success, she wouldn’t have worked for quite some time.

“I wouldn’t have worked for five years now. I reserve the right to just keep making choices that are new for me, and trying different things, taking risks and chances, trying different genres, I just don’t want to do lofty, Oscar-winning type roles. That was never the plan I had for myself,” she said.

Just the Oscar nomination alone moved Berry. She cried in an old episode of The Early Show when she received a reminder of the honor. In the February 2002 interview, Berry recalled she heard about the Oscar win from her manager. Her manager reaching out to Berry was a good sign in itself since she told them not to call her if she wasn’t nominated.

“My manager actually called me. I was wrapping Valentine’s day presents for my daughter, actually, and he called me and he told me,” Berry said.

“Well, I told them if it’s bad news, then don’t call me. If it’s good news, then call me,” she added.

Berry also asserted that her Oscar win wasn’t just a celebration for her but for women in general.

“Women of color aren’t often in my position, so, I’m not only happy for me, I’m happy for an entire group of people, actually, because I know what this means to them as well. So, it’s about all of us right now, and that feels good,” Berry said.

However, Berry wasn’t sure if she’d win the award. At one point, she felt she’d lose it to a much more experienced actor. But to her, the nomination was enough of a win in itself.

“I don’t know what my chances are, and you know what, I don’t even care. I’m just happy to be nominated,” she said.

‘Police Academy’ Actor Steve Guttenberg on Pacific Palisades Fire: ‘Everybody Needs Help Right Now’

Actor Steve Guttenberg sprang into action on Tuesday when a wildfire broke out near his home in Pacific Palisades.

A reporter for local news station KTLA encountered the Police Academy star as a fast-moving fire ravaged the Los Angeles neighborhood. Guttenberg – who appeared to go unrecognized by the reporter – shared some important advice for people evacuating the area: leave the keys in the car if you have to abandon your vehicle.

Guttenberg told KTLA’s Gene Kang that in their panic to escape the fire, some people were actually making a dangerous situation worse.

“What’s happening is people take their keys with them as if they’re in a parking lot,” the Three Men and a Baby actor said. “This is not a parking lot. We really need people to move their cars. So, if you leave your car on Palisades Drive, leave the key in there so a guy like me can move your car and get ‘em up there so that these firetrucks can get up there. It’s really, really important.”

The sudden order to leave Pacific Palisades had caused traffic backups and gridlock on the twisty roads leading out of the hilly neighborhood. As traffic piled up, some people left their cars and fled on foot. The abandoned vehicles were in the way of emergency vehicles and first responders, who eventually had to use a bulldozer to clear about 200 cars from the road.

Guttenberg urged people to focus on their safety and that of their loved ones and neighbors.

“Everybody’s got to band together now. Don’t worry about your personal property … just get out,” he said.

‘Three Men and a Baby’ star calls fires ‘terrible’

On Wednesday morning, Guttenberg was back on the scene in Pacific Palisades. He spoke with KCAL about the fire’s devastating impact. The blaze had destroyed more than 1,000 structures. It is one of several fires burning across Southern California, including the Eaton Fire, which is burning in Altadena and has destroyed many homes and resulted in two confirmed deaths.

“It’s just terrible,” Guttenberg said, who shared that his family was safe. “This is the biggest fire I’ve ever seen in my life.” But the actor said he was committed to helping those who needed it.

“I’m going to get a pair of gloves and see how close I can get,” he said. “Everybody needs help right now … I’m just going to see what I can do to help.”

Cameron Mathison, Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag lose homes in fire

Guttenberg is far from the only celebrity affected by the fire in Pacific Palisades. The affluent neighborhood is home to many stars. Some have confirmed they have lost their homes.

Cameron Mathison of General Hospital posted on Instagram that his “beautiful home” was gone. Spencer Pratt shared on social media that the home he shared with wife Heidi Montag and their two children had also been destroyed, as had his parents’ home. Other celebs said they were safe but had to evacuate, including Mandy Moore, Eugene Levy, and Mark Hamill.
